PelicanPPH.com has a nice looking website, although its not as informative as other providers. Their website offers a free demo, So this would give us an opportunity to find out more about their software. However, the demo site occasionally experiences loading issues. Fortunately, the sign-up process is free, so you have a way to see their sports betting software and all the features without having to spend money. PelicanPPH offers a three-week promotional period for bookies.

Compared to other pay-per-head providers, their registration form is more comprehensive and asks for more details. After signing up, the welcome email arrived within minutes. Their welcome email is more informative than their main site, and includes a list of their services and prices.

Interestingly, there’s inconsistency between the prices listed on their website and those provided in the email. The website states a pay per head fee of $10 per player, which goes down to $3 per player for accounts with 500 or more players. However, the email quoted different rates.

According to the email, they offer $6 per player as the base, which can go up to $12 per player, or even more. For example, if you want to add phone wagering, that is an additional $3 per player. Their base package doesn’t include live streaming of live sporting events, live wagering, and more. We will go into more detail about this below.

As for payment channels, PelicanPPH has a lot of options for bookies. This includes Bitcoin, Etherium, and other cryptocurrencies. Then you have traditional methods such as bank transfers via P2P and other similar platforms.

PelicanPPH offers a wide range of services for bookies. Aside from the usual pre-match and live betting, they have additional in house live betting for US customers. Here are their features, as well as the cost of adding them to their basic package. These are the additional products available as “a la carte” add ons:

Meanwhile, PelicanPPH.com’s back-end platform provides essential tools for running a bookie business. It includes risk management and player management features. They also offer real-time player activity tracking and profit/loss data. These are standard features found in most bookie software.

The dashboard overview on the top of the page displays a sportsbook summary. This includes balances and active wagers. However, this section sometimes fails to load, sometimes resulting in a blank white space where the summary should appear. If you look at the image on the right, the image on the top part shows the overhead summary. The image below that shows a screenshot of the site with an empty white space. This is where the summary should be, but the section failed to load.

Upon observation, we also noticed that the user interface is not as well-made as we would have wanted. It lacks intuitive design, making navigation challenging and time-consuming. This poor design could potentially impact time-sensitive tasks such as line management, where quick action is often necessary.

We then took a closer look at their player management features. PelicanPPH.com’s software offers basic configuration tools. Bookies can adjust betting limits and select any added features you want to offer to each player. However, some functionality issues persist, such as non-responsive buttons when editing player profiles. For example, we wanted to navigate to another section from the player profile section, but the button to return to player management section was not working. This seems like a minimal error, but this could lead to delays or problems for bookies using their software.

The sportsbook itself is nothing special. The base package offers a barebones sportsbook, so unless you buy the add-ons, your players will not be able to access features like the props builder, live betting, and more. Even eSports betting is an add-on, with a revenue-sharing model. They do offer live streaming for both sports betting and horse racing. While this is a nice addition to a bookie’s operation, the price tag makes us doubt if it is worth the expense or not. That’s for you to decide.

Wager types and sports offerings are standard, covering both international and US-based events. Again, the offerings are pretty standard and similar to what you will see in other sportsbooks.

Moving on, we are looking at the visuals and UX of the player website. The sportsbook is pretty basic in terms of design. While it has a clean look, it is too bland and not really that enticing for players to use. Another issue we noticed is UX-related again. When you look for sports leagues to bet on, it takes you a while to do so. Under each sport, the leagues and events are not arranged alphabetically. Reading through the list to find the league you want wastes time.  And since sports betting is time-sensitive, this can be a problem for players. They can lose out on good odds if they spend too much time just searching for events.

Moving on to the online casino, things start picking up. We were impressed with this part of PelicanPPH.com’s service. They offer a wide array of casino games, even surpassing some pay per head providers. The add-on fee for this feature appears justified given the quality and variety of casino games available. Players can enjoy a wide selection of slots and other casino games from renowned providers such as Pragmatic, BetSoft, and Endorphina.

We also noticed a nice feature that the casino software has. They have device compatibility information displayed when hovering over game titles. This allows players to easily identify which games they can enjoy on their preferred devices, be it phone, tablet, or computer.

PelicanPPH is probably worth the cost of their services if you have a really large sportsbook operation. But even then, we have reservations. The pricing structure is complex, with numerous add-ons and player-count-based tiers. This can be confusing for bookies when calculating total expenses.

PelicanPPH does boast some strengths- notably a diverse casino portfolio and optional streaming service. But again, these are premium add-ons. The basic package, in comparison, is underwhelming and offers less functionality than many competitors’ standard offerings. For instance, they offer streaming services for sports betting and horse racing. However, at $250 monthly for sports and an additional $150 for horse racing, this is quite a significant cost for bookies. There are so many add-ons and different levels of services, and they distract you from the fact that the basic package pales in comparison to other providers. The disparity between the basic and premium services creates a dilemma for bookies. Will you settle for a bare-bones platform or navigate a labyrinth of additional fees to access features that are often included elsewhere? This issue may prevent bookies with smaller operations from using their services. It could also be discouraging for those seeking a more straightforward and all-inclusive solution.

Furthermore, their software’s bugs and errors is also a cause of concern for those who want to use their services. You need a bookie software that runs smoothly and perfectly 99.9% of the time. If minor issues like this go unchecked, then what would happen if more and more of these problems will pop up? You need a provider that is more proactive with checking their software for issues and fixing them instantly.

With all these issues, plus the unnecesary complexities of using their software, and the exorbitant price, we would advise you to look for other providers. Reliable providers who can give you a much more streamlined and professional pay per head service. We do not see this with PelicanPPH right now. We, however, have seen better software elsewhere.
